David Michael Trueba, M.D., is an internal medicine physician at Baptist Health Primary Care. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and nephrology. He provides comprehensive primary care and has expertise in treating hypertension, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, anemia and electrolyte imbalance. Dr. Trueba has more than 20 years of experience treating patients in outpatient and inpatient settings. He has held numerous leadership positions in the medical community, including president of the medical staff and chair of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Baptist Health Homestead Hospital. Dr. Trueba earned his medical degree at Universidad Central del Este Facultad de Medicina in the Dominican Republic. He completed an internal medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and a nephrology fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Committed to providing empathetic patient-centered care, Dr. Trueba actively listens to his patients’ needs and preferences, validates their feelings and collaborates with them to make informed decisions about their care. Dr. Trueba is fluent in English and Spanish. During his free time, he enjoys running, sailing and reading.
